Hey, It’s me, Dr. Eris, founder of FACE it, where we are changing the face of mental health. We believe you have the power within you to FACE it Till you Make it. We will give you the tools to heal yourself from life stressors, mental health and relationship issues that get in the way of you becoming the best version of YOU. But, sometimes it takes the help of others to give us the tools and accountability to do so – and that is what FACE it is here for. We are all about that! We have decades of experience and knowledge and we are here to share it ALL with you.

I have helped people all over the world for close to 2 decades make positive and lasting life changes by reinventing themselves from the inside out. I have a doctorate in psychology and own a counseling company in Los Angeles, CA where I have a team of therapists, who use the FACE it model, which helps hundreds of people every week through rocky relationships, anxiety, depression, family issues and much more. I have also shared my expertise and methodology on shows such as HLN’s Dr. Drew On Call, Nancy Grace, NPR, Entertainment Tonight, Extra, On-Air with Ryan Seacrest and Home & Family on the Hallmark Channel, and starred on my show, LA Shrinks on Bravo TV.

On a personal note, I am a mom and a wife. My husband and I even wrote a book together, Break-Up Emergency: A guide to transform your break up into a breakthrough, which transformed our relationship. We are currently working on a book about child-rearing and healing the inner child with our son.

Through my life and work experience and my ups and downs, I have developed FACE it. I know it works because it works for me, my clients, my friends, and my family. And, I want to share it with you.

We all have ups and downs, ins and outs, good days, bad days, and baggage. We are who we are and we are who we are made to be. I know I am. I suffered from an eating disorder and body image issues since I was a teen and have had my share of anxiety that I tried to avoid and kick to the curb. I come from a family of divorce, which manifested in a litany of personal relationship troubles. I have gone from one long term relationship to another, that just didn’t work. Even my relationship with my husband is sometimes a struggle. And being a mom is no cakewalk. To help me through, I have relied on therapy and therapeutic tools that I have discovered as well as created. Through my years of therapy and being a therapist I believe in a more solution-focused approach to therapy. I have found that the more I focused on my problems the bigger my problems got. So, I had to find solutions to problems because I couldn’t and didn’t want to choose to live life in misery. I didn’t want to feel the discomfort I was experiencing forever, and I don’t want you to either. I don’t want you to stay in a therapist’s chair for years talking about your problems.

I would like to invite you to join me on this journey. Because we are in this together.

So, where do you start?

First, if you haven’t already, join me to tour the new free FACE it community group, where we give tools and resources for your self-healing journey (link to FB).

One of the key messages of our program is that the way we think (our cognitions) and what we do (our behavior) affects the way we feel. It follows that if we want to change the way we feel then we will need to make changes to the way we think and act. In our FACE it program, we give you the tools to do this.

Second, begin being honest about yourself and your life, right here in the moment. You can start by saying, “Hey, it’s me (your name).”

Here is what I need for you to know.

It’s OK to not be OK. There are times in life that are not OK. It’s OK to just be OK. But, when you are honest with yourself, you can begin to find a way to learn and grow and be A-OK (very definitely OK).

Through our monthly FACE it e-magazine, blog, and videos, we are going to give you information, resources and all the things that can help you turn your frown upside down.

So, this is where we begin. In the middle of very trying times, we find ourselves open to create a starting line for all of us. A time to begin to change the face of mental health – together. Please email me your questions, your “Hey, It’s Me” story, join our free community. We are going to FACE it till we make it together.
